The Browns placed running back Jason Wright on injured-reserve Tuesday. Wright suffered an MCL strain during Sunday's loss at Baltimore.
In his place, the team has moved rookie Chris Barclay to the active roster from the practice squad. Barclay has been a Brown since directly following the NFL draft. He has spent the entire season so far on the team's practice squad. Barclay was the 2005 ACC Offensive Player of the Year at Wake Forest.
The Browns also filled the vacant spot on their 53-man roster created from last week's move of D'Qwell Jackson (toe) to injured-reserve. Linebacker Clifton Smith was signed to the active roster. Smith was a member of the Browns' practice squad for the second half of the 2005 season and was with the team through 2006 training camp until he was released at the end of the preseason.
