Browns fullback Terrelle Smith has been released, the team announced Wednesday.
Smith, slated to enter his seventh NFL season this fall, appeared in all 48 games during three seasons as a Brown with 32 starts. While primarily a blocking back during that time, he rushed 18 times for 32 yards and caught 27 passes for 111 yards with 1 touchdown.
Smith blocked for 1,000-yard rushers during each of his four seasons as a New Orleans Saint prior to coming to Cleveland and blocked for one as a member of the Browns (Reuben Droughns, 2005). He joined the Saints as a fourth-round draft pick in 2000. In his career, he has appeared in 107 games with 68 starts.
The lone remaining fullback on the Browns' roster is Lawrence Vickers, a sixth-round pick out of Colorado in 2006.
