One Dollar, One Cause
09.27.2007
The Cleveland Browns and National City are focusing their efforts to help promote breast cancer awareness on Sunday, Sept. 30 at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
National City and the Browns are encouraging all fans to donate $1 to the ‘One Dollar, One Cause' campaign as they enter the stadium. Volunteers will be collecting money for the campaign from fans at each gate outside Cleveland Browns Stadium prior to the game. Proceeds from the collection benefit breast cancer research.
In addition, the Browns and National City are teaming up to honor 50 breast cancer survivors with a special pregame ceremony. Each of the 50 survivors were nominated by family and friends and each survivor will participate in a special pregame ceremony honoring the strength and courage of all survivors. The survivors will create a gauntlet welcoming the Browns onto the field in support of the fight against breast cancer.
The pregame ceremony is part of National City and the Browns ongoing ‘Real Men Wear Pink' campaign, promoting breast cancer awareness and featuring Head Coach Romeo Crennel as a spokesperson. Additionally, Cleveland Browns Stadium is currently illuminated in pink in support of breast cancer awareness. The Stadium will remain lit through Oct. 14.
The Browns are also selling pink Browns hats embroidered with a pink ribbon on the side to help raise funds for the cause. The hats cost $15, and $5 from every hat sold will go to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Cleveland Clinic Breast Center.
The Browns will continue selling the exclusive pink hats through the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To purchase Browns pink hats, log on to www.clevelandbrowns.com or visit the Browns Team Shop at Cleveland Browns Stadium (located along Alfred Lerner Way on the south side of the Stadium).
