Eric Steinbach said Friday that he plans to be in the starting lineup Sunday in Pittsburgh.
But he missed his second consecutive practice since hurting his back on Wednesday and is officially listed as questionable.
Steinbach said he "just tweaked" his back on Wednesday and missed Thursday's practice "because I just had to let it calm down a bit. It's nothing major."
Steinbach said it would take "a lot" to keep him from missing Sunday's game.
"This is a game where you want to do everything in your power to get it right," he said. "I'll get it ready."
The Browns ruled Seth McKinney (shoulder) out on Friday and listed D'Qwell Jackson (ankle) as doubtful. Jackson, however, did participate in some of practice for the first time in two weeks.
Andra Davis and Leon Williams will again see extended action if Jackson can't go. Either Ryan Tucker or Lennie Friedman will start at right guard for McKinney; whichever one doesn't start there would be first in line to replace Steinbach on the left side if he can't play.
McKinney's absence breaks a streak of eight straight games with the same starting five offensive linemen.
Antwan Peek (knee) also missed his second consecutive practice and is also questionable. Leigh Bodden (back) is probable and practiced fully.
The Steelers got full participation from all of their "name" players on Friday. Ben Roethlisberger (hip), Willie Parker (knee) and Santonio Holmes (hamstring) are all listed as probable and expected to play.
