5 Questions with Lennie Friedman

Jeff Walcoff, Staff Writer

03.11.2008

On the day he agreed to terms on a new one-year deal with the Browns, offensive lineman Lennie Friedman took time out to answer "5 Questions" with ClevelandBrowns.com.

Q: How does it feel to be coming back for a third season with the Browns?

A: It's very exciting to be back with an organization that treats you so well. The head coach and the offensive line coaches on down, they treat you very well. Obviously the organization took a big turn towards the upside last year with the season and it's exciting to be a part of the turnaround.

Q: What have the last couple weeks been like for you trying to figure out where you'd be?

A: I knew I had a good opportunity to come back to Cleveland. At this point in my career, I've been through these offseasons a few times so it's just something you take as part of the job.

Q: How important was it for you to come back and finish what you guys started as a team?

A: It's very important to be with your teammates and the group that started it. That has a lot to do with it. You can't discount how important it is to be around players you like to be around and coaches you like to be around. It was a tremendous opportunity to come back.

Q: What was the pride like along the offensive line last year, keeping Derek Anderson on his feet for so much of the season?

A: It was a great group. We all got along really well together top to bottom. It was a lot of fun to be a part of. Everybody can attest to that in their daily jobs that if you're with a good group of people it makes coming to work fun.

Q: Being a part of the kick return unit is also a big part of your contributions with the Browns. How exciting is it to play with someone like Joshua Cribbs?

A: Josh makes your job easy. Basically all we try to do is get out of his way. Move fast and make a quick decision and he's going to do the rest. And it makes your job easy because everybody is so worried about getting to Josh that all you have to do is get in front of him and he does the rest. Any time you are part of a successful unit you take a lot of pride in it and get excited about it.
