Community Outreach

Following the tragedy of September 11, 2001, the Cleveland Browns created the Hats Off to Our Heroes program to recognize and salute the accomplishments and services of those from the local community.

The Cleveland Browns dedicate each home game of the regular season to honor and salute each branch of the military by hosting a group of service men and women, who represent their respective branch of the United States Armed Forces in our HONOR ROW. The 2012 Browns Home Opener was dedicated to recognize and pay tribute to wounded warriors who have sacrificed for our country.  To identify the individuals honored during the Browns home games, the Browns work directly with local military branches who determine the respective honorees.

During your attendance for Cleveland Browns 2012 home games, please turn your attention to the Jumbotron after the conclusion of the 1^st quarter to honor those who serve our country.

The Hats Off to Our Heroes program is an annual and wide-ranging program that focuses on recognizing and honoring our everyday local heroes while creating an atmosphere of pride among all our fans.  Originally centered on programming during September, the Hats Off to Our Heroes program is now highlighted during events and initiatives throughout the entire year.

With programming and initiatives extending far beyond just game day, the Cleveland Browns are able to lend support to local military members and their families as well as those currently serving abroad.

The Cleveland Browns Hats Off to Our Heroes program was awarded the '2003 best Single Program' form the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame, who referred to the program as "intriguing and creative."
