MOBILE, Ala. -- For former Ohio State offensive lineman ![]()
Since arriving in Mobile, Ala., Adams has been looking forward to walking into Ladd-Peebles Stadium on Saturday afternoon and representing the North squad in the college all-star game.
“College football has been an amazing experience and something that I’ll never forget,” said Adams. “I’ll always cherish this one, last chance to go out and play with a lot of guys, people who I don’t know but have seen play on TV. It’s just awesome.”
The tradition surrounding the Senior Bowl experience was not lost on Adams, who took part in Monday’s Media Night at the USS Alabama Battleship and ran through drills led by the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff throughout the rest of the week.
“It’s honestly something that I’ll always appreciate and never forget,” Adams said. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play in the Senior Bowl and I’m very happy that I’m here and have the opportunity and very thankful.”
Adams, a 6-foot-8, 320-pound left tackle, is one of nine offensive linemen on the North team’s roster at the Senior Bowl. He did not come to Mobile alone, as three other Ohio State players, wide receiver DeVier Posey, running back Daniel “Boom” Herron and center Mike Brewster were selected to play in the Senior Bowl.
“It’s just a great opportunity to meet all of these great players from around the country, get a chance to compete with the best,” Adams said. “It’s awesome to have three of my other Buckeyes here with me.”
The North roster is full of record-setting players.
From Michigan State’s Kirk Cousins to Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore -- the NCAA’s all-time leader in wins -- and Cincinnati running back Isaiah Pead, Adams has had an opportunity to team up with and block for some of the most explosive offensive players in the country.
“The degree of great players that are here is just amazing, especially because we’ve got guys like Kellen Moore, who had a great, outstanding career at Boise,” Adams said. “Kirk Cousins is an outstanding person and Russell Wilson, which I think everyone knows about, is an awesome player. Blocking for my guy Boom, obviously, I’m biased when it comes to the running backs because that’s my boy. Just being out here and playing the game with these great players is honestly a blessing.”
