Browns Daily Wrap: Big announcement

Posted Nov 13, 2013

On Wednesday’s edition of “ Cleveland Browns Daily, Driven by Liberty Ford,” co-hosts Vic Carucci and Nathan Zegura discussed the positive energy generated by the importance of Sunday’s game against the Bengals and Wednesday’s announcement of the $120 million in renovations that will be made at FirstEnergy Stadium in the next two years. Je’Rod Cherry also joined Nathan and Vic to express his excitement for the new additions to FirstEnergy Stadium, and how they enhance the fan experience.

Browns safety Tashaun Gipson also sat down with Jamir Howerton, of ClevelandBrowns.com, to express how the Browns and Bengals are starving for a win, and how the Browns plan to come out on top.

Here are some highlights:

Vic Carucci: “Timing is everything in this business. The Browns are on a real high from what took place against the Ravens. We knew, going into the bye week, the giddiness would carry through and it is still here. It will mean a lot less if the Browns don’t follow up with a win against the Bengals. With the chance to do what they can do Sunday, and put themselves in a position to control their destiny in the postseason, it’s a palpable feeling that the Browns have transformed into something Cleveland can be very proud of.”

Nathan Zegura: “This truly is a dawning of a new era for the Cleveland Browns. It’s pretty exciting to be a Cleveland Browns fan and to be a part of this organization. This is a very dedicated group and they put their money where their mouth is. The investment is palpable and real and I’m very excited. There is a very different feeling here. This is a team that is very confident. The steady hand of (coach) Rob Chudzinski has navigated these waters and they now have an opportunity to put them atop the AFC North.”

Je’Rod Cherry: “The new renovations get you excited. The venue will be exciting, and there is nothing like having a home game with that atmosphere. I’m all about it and excited about it and looking forward to being about it. …Jimmy Haslam is a successful businessman. Do you think he is going to invest his money (on the new stadium renovations) without getting something in return for his fans? He is trying to take it to the next level to win and have meaningful football. You have to connect the dots.”

Tashaun Gipson: “I just want to come down and make those plays and those game-changing moments. We want to win every week, but nothing is more fitting and flattering than going into a bye week with a win. (Sunday’s game) is definitely going to be huge for us and we need to make that push and we need to start right now. I think both we and the Bengals are hungry for a win right now, and it’s going to be a good matchup.”
