On the strength of
Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Marlon Brown and drew the Ravens to within four points of the Cleveland Browns, 14-10, with nine seconds remaining in the first half of play from FirstEnergy Stadium.
On second-and-10 from the Browns’ 19-yard line, Flacco dropped back in the Shotgun formation and floated a pass to the right side of the field. Brown caught it near the sideline, sprinted toward the goal line and sealed the score with a dive to the pylon.
Earlier in the possession, Flacco tossed a 46-yard pass to wide receiver Torrey Smith that took the ball from Baltimore’s 35-yard line to Cleveland’s 19.
Bess caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback
Bess caught the ball at the 17-yard line, stutter-stepped his way past a Ravens defender at the 12 and got a last-second block from fellow wide receiver
The Browns held a 7-3 lead over the Ravens after the first quarter of play in today’s AFC North Division game.
Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker converted a 51-yard field goal attempt, and drew the Ravens to within four points of the Browns, 7-3, with 3:38 remaining in the first quarter.
The Ravens’ first scoring drive, which came in response to the Browns’ touchdown on their previous possession, covered 47 yards in 11 plays and took 4:46 off the clock.
Baltimore had moved the ball from its own 20-yard line to the Browns’ 24, but on third-and-six, Flacco was sacked for a nine-yard loss by outside linebacker
Bess caught a one-yard touchdown pass from Campbell and gave the Browns a 7-0 lead over the Ravens with 8:24 left to play in the first quarter.
On fourth-and-goal from the one, Campbell lined up in the Shotgun formation and withstood a hit from a Ravens defender while delivering the football to Bess on an out route on the right side of the formation. Bess high-pointed the ball and withstood a hit in the back from a Baltimore defensive back as he fell to the ground for the score.
The Browns’ first scoring drive of the game came on their second possession, covered 80 yards in eight plays and took 3:41 off the first-quarter clock.
