Browns make roster moves

Posted Nov 2, 2012

The Cleveland Browns made a series of roster moves, the team announced Friday evening.

The Cleveland Browns today signed defensive lineman Ronnie Cameron to the active roster from the club’s practice squad. In addition, the team activated defensive lineman Phil Taylor off Reserve Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) and placed defensive lineman Brian Sanford on injured reserve.

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Chicago this year, Cameron appeared in one preseason game with the Bears and three with the Browns after joining the team via waivers on August 14. He spent the first eight weeks of the season on the club’s practice squad. Cameron played collegiately at both Old Dominion University (2010-11) and Hofstra University (2008-09). Born August 15, 1989, the 6-2, 305-pounder is a native of Westbury, N.Y., and attended Holy Trinity High School.

Taylor, the 21st overall selection in the 2011 draft, started all 16 games last season and totaled 59 tackles, four sacks and one forced fumble.

Sanford spent the first seven weeks of the season on the club’s practice squad, before appearing in last week’s contest.
