Browns sign 21 rookie free agents

The Browns have signed 21 undrafted rookie free agents, the team announced Saturday morning.

The Cleveland Browns today announced the signing of 21 undrafted free agents. The group includes five linebackers, three offensive linemen, three wide receivers, three defensive backs, three defensive linemen, one running back, one tight end, one quarterback and one kicker. 

DERRICK ADDAI – Switched from safety to linebacker before his senior season at Western Kentucky (2007-10)… Started 10 of 11 games as senior, recording a team-high 95 tackles with five sacks… Younger brother of Indianapolis Colts running back Joseph Addai… Attended Sharpstown (Houston, Texas) High School.

DOMINIC ALFORD – Appeared in 42 games with 21 starts at Minnesota (2007-10)… Saw action at both right and left guard… Attended Shaker Heights High School in Cleveland.

KYLE ANDERSON – Played his first two years at Western Kentucky (2007-08) before transferring to The Citadel (2009) and finishing his collegiate career at Georgetown (Ky.) (2010)… Helped lead the Tigers to the Mid-South Conference East Division title in 2010, anchoring a defense that was second in the league in scoring defense… Totaled 32 tackles, two sacks and one interception in eight games as a senior en route to first team All-NAIA honors… Attended Bloomington Jefferson (Minneapolis, Minn.) High School.

ANDRE CAROLL – Started 28 of 32 career games at Delaware State (2007-10)… Led the team in tackles as both a junior (56) and senior (88)… Started all 10 contests as a senior and notched 88 tackles and four sacks… Attended Neptune (N.J.) High School.

L.J. CASTILE – Played one season at Delta State (2010) after transferring from Houston (2007-09)… Tallied 60 receptions for 854 yards with 16 touchdowns while at Houston… Posted 67 receptions for 900 yards with 13 touchdowns during senior season at Delta State… Attended LaMarque (Texas) High School.

JAMES DOCKERY – Tallied 106 career tackles and six interceptions while at Oregon State (2007, 2009-10)… Recorded a team-leading four interceptions as a senior en route to earning Pac-10 Conference honorable mention… Attended Palm Desert (Calif.) High School.

JABARI FLETCHER – Started 41 of 51 career games at Appalachian State (2007-10)… Notched 21.5 career sacks… Totaled 60 tackles, nine sacks and one interception in 13 games as a senior… Attended Grady (Atlanta, Ga,) High School.

CALTON FORD – Four year starter at Norfolk State (2007-10)… Started 43 of 45 career games…  Saw action at right tackle in 37 games and eight at left guard… Attended Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Va.

EVAN FROSCH – An All-Mountain West conference performer at TCU (2007-10) as a junior and senior… Hauled in 20 career receptions for 177 yards with two touchdowns… Attended Robert E. Lee High (Midland, Texas) School.

CARL GETTIS – Appeared in 54 games with 50 starts at Missouri (2007-10)… Totaled 236 career tackles and four interceptions… As a senior, registered 48 tackles, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries, while starting all 13 games… Attended Fort Zumwalt West (O’Fallon, Mo.) High School.

DARIAN HAGAN – Played in 38 games with 26 starts in his four seasons at California (2007-10)… Collected 124 career tackles, two sacks, four interceptions, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries including one that he returned 82 yards for a touchdown against Colorado in 2010… Earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors as a senior… Attended Crenshaw (Los Angeles, Calif.) High School.

BENJAMIN JACOBS – Totaled 387 career tackles with four sacks and one interceptions at Fresno State (2007-10)… Tied an NCAA record with three forced fumbles in one game in 2009… A first team All-WAC honoree… Attended Silverado (Las Vegas, Nev.) High School.

CHRIS MATTHEWS – Spent two years at Kentucky (2009-10) after transferring from Los Angeles Harbor Junior College (2007-08)… Totaled 93 receptions for 1,279 while at Kentucky… Hauled in a team-best nine receiving touchdowns in 2010… Attended Dorsey (Los Angeles, Calif.) High School.

JUAN NUNEZ – Started 25 of 37 career games at Western Michigan (2007-10)… Totaled 190 career receptions for 2,337 yards with 24 touchdowns… Earned first team All-MAC honors after recording 91 receptions for 1,032 yards with 10 touchdowns as a senior… Attended Miami Carol City (Fla.) High School.

JARROD SHAW – Started 16 of 23 career games at Tennessee (2007-10)… Opened games at both guard spots and left tackle… Started all 13 games as a senior with eight at right guard and five at left guard… Attended Northside High School in Lafayette La.

ARMOND SMITH – Attended both Hutchinson Community College and Shorter College before transferring to Union (Ky.) College (2009-10)… Named the 2010 the Mid-South Conference West Offensive Player of the Year after averaging 125.1 yards per game… Set numerous school records, including rushing yards in a game (312), rushing yards in a season (1,376), rushing touchdowns in a game (five) and rushing touchdowns in a season (16)… Attended Redan (Stone Mountain, Ga.) High School.

BRIAN SMITH – Started 29 of 47 career games at Notre Dame (2007-10)… Totaled 199 career tackles, five sacks, four interceptions and three forced fumbles... Appeared in all 13 games as a senior and tallied 49 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one interception… Attended St. Thomas Aquinas (Overland Park, Kan.) High School.

SIDNEY TARVER – Started 30 of 40 games at Tennessee State (2007-10)… Registered 144 career tackles, 4.5 sacks and two interceptions including one he returned for an 89-yard touchdown in 2009… As a senior, started all 13 games and totaled 62 tackles and 3.5 sacks… Attended Baylor (Chattanooga, Tenn.) High School.

TROY WEATHERHEAD – Finished his collegiate career (2007-10) as Hillsdale’s all-time leader in passing yards (9,544), touchdown passes (67) and completions (812)…  Named the 2010 GLIAC Player of the Year after setting an NCAA all-division record with a 76.9 completion percentage… Also totaled 3,215 passing yards with 26 touchdowns… Spent four weeks on the Cleveland Gladiators’ (AFL) roster in 2011… Appeared in one game and completed 10 of 14 passes for 178 yards with four touchdowns… Attended Comstock Park (Mich.) High School.

JEFF WOLFERT – A former walk-on at Missouri (2006-08) who went on to set the school single-season and career scoring records… Connected on all 185 career PATs and 59 of 70 (.843) field goals… Spent 2010 with the Omaha Nighthawks (UFL) and converted on 9 of 10 field goal attempts… Attended Blue Valley West (Overland Park, Kan.) High School.

ALEX WUJCIAK – Three-time All-ACC selection at Maryland (2007-10)… Finished 10th on the school’s all-time career list with 381 tackles… Started all 38 career games and collected 2.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and four interceptions… Attended Seton Hall Prep (West Orange, N.J.) High School.
