BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns on Monday signed DB Royce Adams. General Manager Ray Farmer made the announcement.
Adams is 5-10, 190 pounds and officially in his second NFL season out of Purdue. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Jets in 2012, and spent that year on injured reserve with a knee injury. He spent training camp with the Jets in 2013.
He spent a portion of the 2014 offseason with the Browns after signing with the club on Feb. 12. He was waived on July 23.
In 2011, Adams played for the Arena Football League’s Pittsburgh Power, where he registered 56 tackles, seven passes defenses and one forced fumble.
In college, Adams spent his first three seasons as a cornerback before converting to wide receiver for his senior year. A native of South Euclid, Ohio, Adams transferred from St. Edward High School to Glenville High School for his senior year.
The Browns roster is currently at 87 players.
