This round of cuts came in addition to the six players who were waived Friday evening. The Browns waived defensive back Coye Francies, offensive linemen Casey Bender and Joel Reinders and tight end Joel Gamble, as well as wide receivers Jake Allen and Syndric Steptoe.
McDonald started 27 of 48 career games with the Browns since they drafted him out of Memphis in the fifth round in 2007. He registered 131 total tackles, one sack, and eight interceptions, including a career-high five takeaways in 2008. He returned one interception for a touchdown and made 23 special teams tackles.
Smith played in seven games with the Lions in 2009, making nine total tackles and eight additional stops on special teams.
Jennings played in nine games, making one start with the Browns in 2009. He gained 220 yards on 63 carries and scored a 10-yard touchdown in the Browns’ 13-6 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last December.
Mosley played 12 games for the Browns in 2009 before going on Injured Reserve on December 7th. He made 18 total tackles, including 13 solo stops.
