Browns Backers Worldwide and the Cleveland Browns are proud to announce the Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs Browns Backers as the November 2011 Club of the Month.
The club is based in Mason, Ohio and stands strong with 189 active members. The club name was created by the first club president, Frank Satullo. Cincinnati-Dayton Road is a main road that goes through the northern suburbs. In this area, everyone just refers to it as “Cin-Day”. The original meeting place, The Lucky Dog Grille, was located just off this road. Satullo put the two together and came up with “Cin-Day Lucky Dawgs” – using the Browns’ spelling of Dawg.
The club hosted a Kids Safety Rally on October 30, 2011. Meteorologist Randi Rico was on hand to meet and greet kids, as was “Safety Dawg,” and Cin-Day Lucky Dawg members. The group helped demonstrate general and trick or treating safety tips for children and families of Mason and the surrounding area.
Being a fairly new club, they are still exploring areas they can be involved charitably. On December 4th they held their first fundraiser for Prune Belly Syndrome. Through this fundraiser, they are hoping to raise a lot of money but also draw awareness to this rare disease.
Watching games with this club is exciting for more reasons than just the game. The club holds a raffle each game day and they also have trivia. To be chosen for Member of the Week, during the game they draw from the “Burb Bag” and if you are from the suburb drawn, you get the honor of being the Member of the Week. During the 3rd quarter, the group does an introduction activity called “Dawg Meet Dawg World,” where members and guests are asked to present themselves to the group in an effort to make sure people feel welcome and can get to know each other.
