Cribbs, Thomas limited Wednesday

Pro Bowlers Joshua Cribbs and Joe Thomas were two of the seven Browns limited during Wednesday's practice.

The Browns listed seven players as limited during Wednesday’s practice and three others were full participants as the team began its preparations for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Wide receiver Joshua Cribbs (groin), defensive backs Sheldon Brown (groin) and Eric Hagg (knee), linebacker Titus Brown (ankle), wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi (ankle) and offensive linemen Tony Pashos (ankle) and Joe Thomas (knee) were all limited Wednesday.

Linebacker Chris Gocong (groin), running back Peyton Hillis (illness) and wide receiver Carlton Mitchell (finger) were full participants in practice.

“The guys that we thought would be out there on Monday were there at the walk-through,” Browns coach Pat Shurmur said. “We’ll see how things progress. A couple guys may be limited, but I don’t anticipate any big roster or game day active difference from last week other than, of course, Peyton Hillis. He was out there today in the walk-through and he’s ready to practice.”

Pashos tried to play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins but was among the team’s seven inactive players.

“Everything’s going (well) out there. It’s still day-to-day, but I’m feeling very good,” Pashos said. “We have great trainers, great coaches. I’m excited to be back out there and hopefully, I am back out there.”

Cribbs played Sunday against the Dolphins but was limited strictly to the offensive side of the football. He did not drop back to field one punt or kickoff return. However, after Wednesday’s practice, Cribbs said he would be ready to return a kick if he “can go into the game 100 percent.”

“We have capable returners that can get the job done if I’m not able to, but hopefully, I’ll be able to by the end of the week,” Cribbs said. “I did return a few in practice today, but we weren’t going full speed. I was getting the work down for the end of the week. We’re a long ways off from the game, but I do expect to be back there returning.”

While some of the Browns took advantage of their day off on Tuesday, Cribbs went to work preparing his body for Sunday.

“I think he looked good today moving around; I’ve seen him in here every day,” Shurmur said of Cribbs. “He’s like most real pros. Even though Tuesday’s their off day, most of the time, you see the guys around. He moved around well today and that probably means he’ll be back returning.”

The Titans practiced without linebacker Gerald McGrath (knee), while safety Chris Hope (shoulder) was a full participant.
