Cribbs added to AFC Pro Bowl roster

Special teams standout Joshua Cribbs has been added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster.

Kick return specialist Joshua Cribbs has been added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster after the Baltimore Ravens claimed the conference’s Super Bowl berth with a 28-13 victory over the New England Patriots Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

Cribbs was named a first alternate back in December. Cribbs, who has now earned an invitation to three Pro Bowls during his eight-year career with the Browns, took the kick returner slot in place of Baltimore’s Jacoby Jones.

Cribbs returned 43 kickoffs for 1,178 yards, an average of 27.4 yards per runback. He also totaled 457 yards on 38 punt returns. In coverage, Cribbs finished among the team leaders with nine special teams tackles.

Earlier this year, Cribbs passed Desmond Howard for sixth on the NFL’s all-time return yards list. His 10,015 kickoff return yards are the most for any player with one team in league history.

Cribbs joins left tackle Joe Thomas and kicker Phil Dawson in the 2013 Pro Bowl. The three players are most the Browns have had since 2009, when Thomas, defensive tackle Shaun Rogers and long snapper Ryan Pontbriand represented the team.
