The club meets in three Dallas area locations and was officially founded in 1980 as the Browns Backers of Texas. When the team was reestablished in 1999, the club was renamed the Dallas Area Browns Backers to promote a more localized presence. This is the first Club of the Month honor for the club.
DABB has been busy these last few years organizing a formal board and governing doctrine, adding a third viewing location and tripling its membership. There is also no lack of communication with this group. The members have established a website and they maintain an active Facebook page. There is a monthly e-newsletter sent to all members in the offseason, and then weekly during the regular season.
DABB creates fun events for all of their members to enjoy sports year round. After last year’s trip to the Browns/Saints game in October, the group traveled to watch the Cavs/Mavs game and will attend the Indians/Rangers game in August. However, the club is also supportive of many charities and has donated to their local food pantry and Toys for Tots.
Thank you to Dallas Area Browns Backers for all of their hard work and dedication. For more information on the DABB and their future events, visit www.dallasbrowns.com.
