Fairless, Manchester to meet in HS GOTW

The Division V, Region 15 semifinal between Manchester and Fairless will be featured as this week’s Cleveland Browns High School Game of the Week, presented by PNC Bank.

This Week’s Matchup: Fairless vs. Manchester

Date of Game: Saturday, Nov. 16

Manchester is 9-2 on the year and got to the Division V semifinal by beating Ursuline last week, 19-16. The Panthers are led by head coach Jim France, who has been at the helm of the program from 1971-1984 and 1986-present.

Fairless is 8-3 on the year, and earned a berth into the Division V semifinal with a 51-42 win over Black River last week. The Falcons are led by head coach Don Wilson who has been the head coach at Fairless since 2012.

This is a rematch of sorts from the regular season, as Manchester and Fairlesss are both members of the Principals Athletic Conference. Earlier this season, Fairless snapped a 27-year losing streak to Manchester with a 49-48 triple overtime victory.

This is Fairlesss’ second playoff berth as its only other postseason appearance in school history was in 1999. This year marks Manchester‘s 21st playoff appearance in school history. Last year, Manchester made it to the Division IV, Region 13 semifinal, but lost to Brookfield, 55-14.

The winner will advance to the Division V, Region 15 final to face the winner of the Crestview vs. Gilmour Academy.
