EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Despite a 14-point deficit in the first quarter, the New York Giants earned a 41-27, come-from-behind victory over the Cleveland Browns at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Browns rookie wide receiver Josh Gordon caught a 20-yard touchdown -- his second of the game and season -- on a go-route at the 3:56 mark of the fourth quarter in Sunday’s game against the Giants.

Gordon’s reception cut the Browns’ deficit to 14 points at 41-27.

Rookie running back David Wilson increased the Giants’ lead to 41-20 over the Browns with a 40-yard touchdown run at the 5:41 mark of the fourth quarter.

On first-and-10 from the Browns’ 40-yard line, Wilson took the handoff and ran behind right guard Chris Snee for the touchdown.

The six-play, 80-yard drive started when Giants linebacker -- and Ohio native -- Chase Blackburn intercepted Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden in the East end zone.

The Browns trailed the Giants 34-20 after the third quarter of play.

Browns kicker Phil Dawson kicked a 41-yard field goal and trimmed the Giants’ lead to 14 points at 34-20 with 3:27 left in the third quarter.

Dawson’s second field goal of the game and seventh of at least 40 yards this season came just four plays after Joshua Cribbs had a 74-yard kickoff return to New York’s 30-yard line.

Third-year wide receiver Victor Cruz caught his third touchdown pass of the day, a 28-yarder, and extended the Giants’ lead to 34-17 over the Browns at the 5:06 mark of the third quarter.

Cruz’s catch came on the heels of a defensive stop by the Giants and a Browns punt downed by defensive back Buster Skrine at New York’s five-yard line. It was the second time in the game that Cruz capped off a 90-plus yard drive with a touchdown catch.

Lawrence Tynes’ 40-yard field goal as time expired gave the Giants a 27-17 halftime lead over the Browns.

When Cruz caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Eli Manning, the Giants took their first lead of the game over the Browns at 24-17 with 1:10 left in the first half.

Cruz ran an out-route and broke free of the coverage before hauling in the pass.

The Giants’ third touchdown of the game was set up by a Cleveland turnover.

On the kickoff after the Giants’ 29-yard field goal, Cribbs returned the ball 30 yards, but was hit by safety Will Hill and lost the football. Hill recovered the fumble at the Browns’ 29-yard line.

Running back Ahmad Bradshaw’s four-yard touchdown run and Tynes’ extra point got the Giants even with the Browns at 17-17 with 2:52 left in the first half.

The two-play, 40-yard scoring drive was set up by a Browns turnover.

On third-and-one from the Giants’ 25-yard line, Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden threw an interception to New York safety Stevie Brown. The defensive back returned the ball 46 yards to the Browns’ 40-yard line.

One play after the interception, Manning connected with rookie wide receiver Reuben Randle on a 36-yard pass play.

Earlier in the quarter, Tynes made a 29-yard field goal and cut the Browns’ lead to 17-10 at the 6:46 mark of the first half.

Tynes’ kick capped off a 14-play, 68-yard drive that took 6:53 off the second-quarter clock. The field goal drive was New York’s second scoring possession of more than six minutes in the first half.

Browns kicker Phil Dawson kicked a 32-yard field goal and extended the team’s lead to 17-7 over the Giants with 13:39 left to play in the first half.

Dawson’s kick, his ninth field goal of season, capped off a 10-play, 50-yard drive that lasted 4:43.

Courtesy of touchdowns on their first two possessions, the Browns held a 14-7 lead over the Giants after one quarter of play.

Cruz caught a three-yard touchdown pass from Manning and Tynes’ extra point cut in half the Browns’ lead over the Giants.

With 3:22 left in the first quarter, the Browns led the Giants 14-7.

The Giants marched 92 yards in 11 plays and took nearly seven minutes off the first-quarter clock on their scoring drive.

Gordon hauled in a 62-yard touchdown reception from Weeden and extended the team’s lead to 14-0 over the Giants with 10:03 remaining in the first quarter.

On second-and-five from their own 38-yard line, the Browns utilized a play fake to running back Trent Richardson and then, Weeden found Gordon behind the defenders for the touchdown. Gordon started the play in the left slot, ran past the coverage, caught the pass at the 15 and ran the rest of the way for the score.

The five-play, 80-yard drive took 2:11 off the game clock.

On the second offensive play of the game for the Browns, Richardson ran for a 15-yard touchdown and gave the team a 7-0 lead over the Giants with 14:08 left in the first quarter.

Richardson took the handoff from Weeden on second-and-three, burst through a hole behind center Alex Mack and scored. With the touchdown, Richardson became the first Browns rookie ever to rush for a touchdown in four consecutive games.

Richardson also gained seven yards on the first play of the drive, which was set up by a Giants turnover.

On New York’s first play from scrimmage, Bradshaw ran to the right of the formation, but Snee knocked the ball out of his hands. Veteran defensive back Sheldon Brown recovered for Cleveland at the Giants’ 22-yard line.
