Posted Nov 4, 2012

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Cleveland Browns, 25-15, in today’s AFC North Division game at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

The Baltimore Ravens scored only 10 points after the first quarter, but it was enough to seal the 25-15, come-from-behind victory over the Cleveland Browns in a battle of AFC North Division teams at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker made a 43-yard field goal attempt and extended the Ravens’ lead over the Cleveland Browns to 10 points, at 25-15, with 2:49 left in the fourth quarter of the today’s game.

Tucker kicked the field goal four plays after the Browns turned the ball over on downs when Brandon Weeden’s pass attempt to wide receiver Greg Little sailed over the second-year player’s hands.

Torrey Smith’s 19-yard touchdown reception put the Ravens back in front of the Browns and the ensuing two-point conversion to Anquan Boldin brought the advantage to seven points, at 22-15, with 4:26 remaining in the fourth quarter.

On third-and-10, quarterback Joe Flacco withstood the pressure from the Browns’ defensive front and delivered the ball to Smith, who caught the pass near the first-down marker and spun toward the sideline to avoid a tackle and before sprinting to the end zone. Smith’s touchdown was his fifth of the regular season.

With his fifth field goal of the day coming from 41 yards away, kicker Phil Dawson gave the Browns their first lead of the game over the Ravens, 15-14, with 8:48 left in regulation.

Dawson is one made field goal away from equaling his franchise record of six field goals, which he achieved at San Diego on Nov. 5, 2006.

The Browns originally went in front of the Ravens when quarterback Brandon Weeden connected with rookie wide receiver Josh Gordon on an 18-yard touchdown pass on a slant route over the middle of Baltimore’s defense. However, the Browns were penalized for an illegal formation that took the touchdown off the scoreboard.

The Browns trailed the Ravens, 14-12, after three quarters of play.

Dawson made his fourth field goal of the game when he converted a 33-yard attempt and got the Browns to within two points of the Baltimore Ravens, 14-12, with 2:39 remaining in the third quarter.

Dawson has hit from 33, 29, 28 and 32 yards against the Ravens today.

With two touchdowns in the first quarter, the Ravens built a 14-9 lead over the Browns after the first half.

Earlier in the quarter, Dawson converted a 28-yard field goal attempt and cut the Baltimore lead to 14-6 with 1:47 left to play in the first half. The Browns’ 10-play, 76-yard scoring drive lasted for more than four minutes.

Baltimore running back Bernard Pierce rushed for a 12-yard touchdown and gave the Ravens a 14-0 lead over the Browns with one second remaining in the first quarter. Pierce took a pitch out from Flacco on third-and-one, turned the corner around left tackle and tiptoed his way up the sideline before crossing the goal line.

Baltimore’s 12-play, 66-yard drive took 6:52 off the first-quarter clock. They held the ball for 12:17 in the first quarter.

Fellow running back Ray Rice opened the scoring with an eight-yard touchdown run that gave the Ravens a 7-0 lead over the Browns at the 8:37 mark of the first quarter.

Rice served as a catalyst on the 10-play, 70-yard drive that took 5:25 off the first-quarter clock. He ran for 32 yards and the touchdown on six carries, while Flacco completed all four of his pass attempts for 38 yards.
