Gordon nominated for Pepsi MAX Rookie Award

Wide receiver Josh Gordon has been nominated for the Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Week Award.

Wide receiver JOSH GORDON of the Cleveland Browns, running Back BRYCE BROWN of the Philadelphia Eagles, quarterback ROBERT GRIFFIN III of the Washington Redskins, quarterback ANDREW LUCK of the Indianapolis Colts and quarterback RUSSELL WILSON of the Seattle Seahawks are the finalists for PEPSI MAX NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK honors for games played on November 29 – December 3, the NFL announced today.

Fans can vote for one of these five players on NFL.com/rookies beginning Tuesday at 9 A.M. ET and ending on Friday at 3 P.M. ET to determine the PEPSI MAX NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK. The PEPSI MAX NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January. The Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year will be announced at the second annual “NFL Honors” awards show in New Orleans on Saturday, February 2, the night before Super Bowl XLVII.

A closer look at the finalists:

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon caught six passes for 116 yards and one touchdown as the Browns beat the Oakland Raiders 20-17.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Bryce Brown gained 169 yards on 24 carries and scored two touchdowns in the Eagles’ 38-33 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III completed 13 of 21 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown, and added another 73 yards rushing to lead the Redskins to a 17-16 win over the New York Giants.

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck completed 24 of 54 passes for 391 yards and four touchdowns in the Colts’ 35-33 victory over the Detroit Lions.

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 23 of 37 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns as well as adding 71 yards on the ground in the Seahawks’ 23-17 overtime victory against the Chicago Bears.

This is Pepsi’s eleventh year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL and the eleventh year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards.
