Groves, Winn active against Ravens

Posted Nov 3, 2013

Cleveland Browns outside linebacker Quentin Groves and defensive lineman Billy Winn are active and will play against the Baltimore Ravens today.

After missing a combined nine games over the last five weeks, outside linebacker Quentin Groves and defensive lineman Billy Winn are active and expected to play against the Baltimore Ravens in today’s AFC North Division game at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Groves, who has missed four of the last five games, has two tackles and one sack on defense, and forced a fumble this season.

Winn played in just three games, with two starts, before suffering a quadriceps injury in the Browns’ 31-27 come-from-behind victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 22. In those three games, Winn registered 10 tackles, seven solo stops and one sack.

The Browns have deactivated offensive linemen Patrick Lewis, Martin Wallace, Garrett Gilkey and Reid Fragel, defensive lineman Ishmaa’ily Kitchen, tight end Keavon Milton and linebacker Paul Hazel for today’s game, and will not have a change to their starting lineup.

The Ravens will be without the services of safety Brynden Trawick, running back Bernard Scott, offensive linemen Kelechi Osemele and Ryan Jensen, wide receiver Brandon Stokley, defensive end DeAngelo Tyson and outside linebacker John Simon.

Jameel McClain will start at inside linebacker for Josh Bynes, and A.Q. Shipley will play in place of Osemele at left guard.
