Haden active for Steelers game

Posted Nov 25, 2012

Defensive back Joe Haden is back in the lineup for today’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After missing last week’s 23-20 overtime loss at the Dallas Cowboys with an oblique injury, defensive back Joe Haden is back in the lineup for today’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Haden, who also missed four games due to a league-mandated suspension earlier this season, has registered 27 total tackles, 21 solo stops, two interceptions, 64 return yards on those takeaways and five pass breakups. He is tied with middle linebacker D’Qwell Jackson and free safety Usama Young for the team lead in interceptions and for third in pass breakups.

The Browns have deactivated defensive backs Dimitri Patterson and Ray Ventrone, running back Brandon Jackson, fullback Owen Marecic, defensive lineman Ronnie Cameron, offensive lineman Jarrod Shaw and wide receiver Josh Cooper for today’s game.

Patterson (ankle) and Ventrone (calf) were listed as “out” on the Friday injury report.

The team had no expected changes to the starting lineup.

Quarterbacks Ben Roethlisberger and Byron Leftwich, cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke, safety Troy Polamalu, offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert and wide receivers Antonio Brown and Jerricho Cotchery are inactive for the Steelers.

Dayton, Ohio native Will Allen is expected to start for Polamalu at strong safety and veteran Charlie Batch will play in place of Roethlisberger and Leftwich. Emmanuel Sanders is expected to play for Brown at wide receiver and Mike Adams, a rookie offensive lineman from Dublin Coffman High School near Columbus, is listed as the starting right tackle in place of Gilbert.
