Have you ever wondered what a Dream Day would be for a Browns fan?

Posted Aug 15, 2014

Garrett Gilkey helps make wishes come true

On Tuesday, August 12th, the Cleveland Browns welcomed over 30 extraordinary fans to training camp for an ultimate ‘Dream Day’ at the Browns'' training facility.

Guests from Dream Days, a local grassroots non-profit organization who works with those with developmental, physical and other chronic conditions, arrived for an exclusive morning to view practice in reserved seating. With football season in full swing, guests could be seen chowing down on complimentary hot dogs, taking photos right up against the players tackling and enjoying the atmosphere of the Dawg Pound at camp.

As practice continued, Clevelander, Donte Whitner, broke away from his drills to deliver a ‘jersey off his back’ to one of the Dream Day guests. Whitner, who grew up in Cleveland and went to high school at Glenville, knows the importance of giving back to his community. With the conclusion of camp, 24 Browns players stopped by to truly make the Dream Day complete. The special guests stood on the practice grass admiring the size of their ‘Football Heroes’ while little did they know they were being admired by the Browns for their perseverance and positive outlook on life.

To end the memorable day, Garrett Gilkey, who plans to start a career in teaching kids with special needs in his post-football career, stopped by and was the highlight for the special guests on site.

The Browns hope you will make a difference in someone’s life, and share your commitment through #give10 of the Cleveland Browns First and Ten signature community platform, aimed to inspire giving back in the community.
