Browns running back Peyton Hillis leads his third round match-up against Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles with 58 percent of the vote in the competition to be on the cover of Madden NFL 12, the latest edition of the popular video game series.

Should he advance, Hillis would face off with the winner of the match-up between Green Bay Packers and Super Bowl MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers and New England Patriots running back Danny Woodhead.

Hillis defeated Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan with 51 percent of the vote in their second round match-up in the Madden NFL 12 cover voting challenge. Before defeating Ryan, Hillis bested Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice in the first round of the competition.

After becoming the first player in team history to rush for 1,000 yards, catch 50 passes and score ten touchdowns in the same season, Hillis was entered into a bracket-style competition to be on the cover of Madden NFL 12.

Hillis would be the first Cleveland sports athlete to grace the cover of a video game. Rick Nash, right winger and captain of the National Hockey’s League’s Columbus Blue Jackets, is the only Ohio professional sports athlete to be featured on a video game’s cover in the last decade.
