DETROIT -- Linebacker D’Qwell Jackson was announced as one of the Cleveland Browns’ 10 inactive players for tonight’s game against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.

After developing a sore knee at practice earlier in the week, Richardson was sent home to Pensacola, Fla., where he had it examined by world-renown orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James Andrews.
According to a statement from Browns coach Pat Shurmur, Andrews performed surgery on Richardson and the team hopes the No. 3 overall pick in the draft to be ready for opening day against the Philadelphia Eagles at Cleveland Browns Stadium Sept. 9.

The Lions will be without wide receivers Titus Young and Ryan Broyles, as well as running backs Jahvid Best and Mikel Leshoure, safeties Louis Delmas and Don Carey, cornerback Chris Greenwood, tackle Johnathan Scott, defensive tackle Sammie Hill and defensive ends Cliff Avril and Kyle Vanden Bosch.
Lawrence Jackson will start for Avril at left defensive end and Willie Young will go for Vanden Bosch at right end. Dwight Bentley will be in for Alphonso Smith at right cornerback, while John Wendling and Erik Coleman will start in place of Amari Spivey and Delmas at the strong and free safety positions, respectively.
