“NFL Road Tested: The Cleveland Browns” debuts tonight on the Travel Channel at 10 p.m. ET.

The five-part series will show how the team prepares for road trips, everything from feeding the team and getting them outfitted in uniforms, to organizing the locker room and handling more than 70,000 fans coming to a game.

In tonight’s debut, viewers will watch as the Browns travel to play the New York Giants and Baltimore Ravens.

“I think it’s something that will be interesting for people to see,” Browns coach Pat Shurmur said. “Anytime there’s a behind-the-scenes look at anything that goes on, I’m sure it’s very interesting.

“I would say that the folks involved with it have been very good about making sure that it’s not a distraction for the preparation. I know there’s a lot of interesting things that happen on a day-to-day basis within an organization.”

The 30-minute documentary series was a partnership of Travel Channel, NFL Films and RIVR Media and provides fans with unprecedented access to never-before-seen footage through the eyes of players and front office staff, including new owner Jimmy Haslam, as the Browns travel from game to game in opposing cities throughout the regular season.

The series will also show the Browns away from the game, as it followed kicker Phil Dawson back home to Austin, Texas, during the team’s annual bye week.

“That whole thing has been fun,” Dawson said. “I’ve gotten to know the guys and it makes you a little more careful how you conduct yourself. That’s probably a good reminder. They came down to Austin on the bye week and so, they were able to see me and my family back home all together. Any chance I get to showcase them is fun for me.

“I think guys have enjoyed getting to tell their stories and unlike “Hard Knocks”, I think this one’s a little more off the field, behind-the-scenes stuff. I think guys enjoy getting their stories out there.”
