Patterson had missed the previous seven games with an ankle injury he suffered in a 41-27 loss at the New York Giants on Oct. 7. He enters the game with 25 total tackles, 23 solo stops and five pass breakups this season. Earlier in the year, Patterson set a career high with 11 solo tackles in a 23-16 loss at Baltimore on Sept. 27.

The Chiefs deactivated quarterback Ricky Stanzi, wide receivers Steve Breaston and Devon Wylie, safeties Abram Elam and Kendrick Lewis, running back Nate Eachus and defensive lineman Jerrell Powe.
Tysyn Hartman is expected to start at free safety in play of Lewis.
