Pinkston active for Browns against Bengals

Posted Nov 17, 2013

Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Jason Pinkston is active for today’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium.

Despite being listed as questionable after being limited in practice on both Thursday and Friday with ankle soreness, offensive lineman Jason Pinkston is active for the Cleveland Browns for today’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium.

Pinkston, who spent the offseason recuperating from blood clots that cost him 10 games last season, missed the first nine games of this season after suffering a high-ankle sprain in a preseason win over the Detroit Lions. He was later placed on the injured reserve/designated for return list, and was activated to the 53-man roster on Nov. 11 after returning to practice ahead of the Browns’ 23-17 loss at Kansas City.

The Browns have deactivated tight end MarQueis Gray, linebacker Brandon Magee, offensive linemen Patrick Lewis, Martin Wallace, Garrett Gilkey and Reid Fragel, as well as defensive lineman Ishmaa’ily Kitchen for today’s game.

Gray has been out of the lineup because of a hamstring injury suffered in the 24-18 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 3.

The Bengals will be without the services of safety Chris Crocker, halfback Rex Burkhead, linebacker Rey Maualuga, guards Kevin Zeitler and Tanner Hawkinson, defensive tackle Devon Still and wide receiver Ryan Whalen.

Mike Pollak will start at right guard for Zeitler, and Vincent Rey will play at middle linebacker in place of Maualuga.
