Browns Player Quotes (Weeden, Lauvao, Little, Richardson, Taylor) 10-24-12
(On the advantage and challenges to having all the receivers back)- “A couple weeks ago, we were worried about not having enough so it’s nice having those guys back. Those guys are able to be fresh when they are running routes. They are running at full speed because they come out for a play or for a couple plays. It’s good having all those guys in there. It doesn’t mess up our timing. It probably actually helps us more than anything because they are doing the reps full speed. It’s nice to have those guys back. It doesn’t change anything we do offensively. More than anything, it’s more of a positive for us.”
(On if things have slowed down for him)- “Yeah, I think it definitely slowed down as far as the game. I think I’m playing a little bit faster because I’m not having to think quite as much about what we’re doing. That’s the main thing. Earlier in the year, I’m still thinking, ‘Okay, my X receiver is doing this, my backs here.’ I was thinking about all the X’s and O’s and what we were doing. You add that on top of how good and how fast those guys are on the other side of the ball, that’s a lot going on in your mind. Yeah, the game is slowing down a little bit for me, but I’m also understanding what we’re doing offensively which helps. That helps you process it, you know where to go with the football, you know where your progressions are, you know where your check-downs are and all those things. Just getting comfortable with the offense is probably helping me slow the game down more than anything.”

(On why the pass blocking has been so effective recently)- “I would just say it is a collective thing. It’s the running backs, the tight ends, the quarterbacks. It’s a group thing and we’ve been able to just communicate together and take it upon ourselves to make sure everything is on point.”
Greg Little:
(On Brandon Weeden having more time in the pocket and being more comfortable)- “I just think Brandon is becoming more comfortable with the progression itself and I think more comfortable with the play. Him seeing it over and over and over in real live action is helping him kind of get through the first two reads because he know it’s not there judging from the defensive look and then getting to the third read and letting the guy run with it.”

(On what makes him confident that he can be effective this Sunday against the Chargers)- “It’s just the mindset and being around my teammates. My teammates tell me the I looked way better than I did last week and at the end of the week I will look way better at the beginning of this week than I did at the end of last week. That’s a big plus and coach has come to me telling me, ‘You look way better.’ In my mindset I feel way better, I feel much stronger.”
Phil Taylor:
(On what his first practice back was like)- “It felt good. I just have to knock out the cobwebs and stuff. It felt good though.”
(On how he will help the defense)- “I will help by doing whatever I can do. I’m going to go out there and play hard every play.”
(On what the toughest aspect of coming back will be)- “Just getting back into that football shape. You can run all you want, but you’re not going to be in football shape until you put the pads on and do the necessary things you’ve got to do during a play and things like that.”
