Winn to start in place of Rubin

BALTIMORE -- Cleveland Browns defensive end Billy Winn will get his second consecutive start in place of Ahtyba Rubin today against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

BALTIMORE -- Defensive end Billy Winn will get his second straight start for the Cleveland Browns when they take on the defending Super Bowl-champion Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium today.

Rubin was listed as “doubtful” for the Browns following Friday’s practice, and had not participated in on-field work because of a calf injury.

“If Rubin is not able to go, Billy will start,” Browns coach Rob Chudzinski said Friday. “I thought he played very well last week.”

In addition to Winn, the Browns will start Oniel Cousins at right guard in place of Shawn Lauvao, who is still out of the lineup with an ankle injury suffered during a training-camp practice in mid-August.

“He’s worked extremely hard this week,” Chudzinski said of Cousins. “He’s been the last guy coming off the field. I saw him in the weight room doing extra things and out here (on the field) doing extra things on his day off. You can’t ask for anything more. He’s really working at it and wants to do well. I expect him to be better this week and looking forward to playing Baltimore.”

Along with Rubin and Lauvao, the Browns have deactivated quarterback Brian Hoyer, tight end MarQueis Gray, offensive lineman Martin Wallace, defensive lineman Armonty Bryant and linebacker Paul Hazel for the game.

Despite being questionable with thigh and shoulder injuries, respectively, wide receiver Travis Benjamin and safety T.J. Ward are active for the game.

The Ravens will play without wide receiver Jacoby Jones, running back Shaun Draughn, offensive linemen Jah Reid and Ryan Jensen, wide receiver Deonte Thompson, defensive end DeAngelo Tyson and defensive tackle Brandon Williams.

Baltimore does not have any expected changes to its starting lineup.
