#give10

Name: Ty Stricko

School: Canfield Middle School

How they give back:

Ty Stricko has been volunteering for a year now and he gives back by helping coach youth flag football in his neighborhood.  Even with his own busy football schedule, he is still able to manage a few hours out of his week to help grow the game of football.  Ty is a part of the Youngstown Youth Flag Football Association that won the National championship in 2017.  Ty said that he wants to give back because of how much Coach Elliot (President, YYFFA) has done for him.

Name: Shane Lindstrom

School: South Range

How they give back:

Shane Lindstrom gives back by being a flag football coach.  He has been coaching flag football for a year now and said that he just enjoys being around football, so he wants to be involved any way that he can.  His reason behind all of his efforts is that he wants to make football players become fundamentally better and because he has had great mentorship and individuals that have invested time with him and his game.

Name: Rob Taras

League: NOYFC

How they give back:

Rob Taras is the Head Coach for the Parma Seminoles, which is affiliated with the Northeast Ohio Youth Football Conference.  Rob has dedicated a lot of time to helping the community.  Not only by volunteering as a coach for the football team, but also by helping out with the community baseball fields, volunteering at community fairs and exploring options to get the community involved.  His efforts have allowed kids to enjoy their time in football and within the community as well.

Name: Robert Dowdell

League: Akron Parent Pee Wee Association, Inc.

How they give back:

Robert Dowdell is the President of the Akron Parent Pee Wee Association, Inc.  He is dedicated to helping grow and develop the game of football in northeast Ohio.  He has also spent his time getting volunteers to help within the community.  He and his volunteers have helped clean up the community centers in the Akron area as well as collected socks to send to children in other countries.  His time in the community has helped the Akron Parent Pee Wee Association expand and become what it is today.

Name: Jason Dunn

League: Cleveland MUNY

How they give back:

Jason is extremely visible in the Greater Cleveland community volunteering as a league director that started out as a youth football coach who was passionate about youth and the sport. His volunteerism and those of the parents and kids he coaches helps keep their program connected to the citizens in his community. He believes in being active in the community and promoting the sport of both tackle and flag to keep football numbers up and the excitement of the game alive.

The Browns are dedicated to #give10 through the team’s First and Ten initiative. Launched in June 2014, the Cleveland Browns First and Ten campaign is the team’s community program, established to inspire fans to volunteer in and help their communities throughout the world by volunteering for 10 hours each year. Since its inception, Browns fans have committed to volunteering more than 1.5 million hours to impact their communities by pledging to #give10. Through First and Ten, the Browns are the only NFL club to promote a long-term volunteering program that unifies the team and its entire fan base, with the goal of impacting every individual’s city across the globe, as well as the franchise’s local community. All Browns fans are encouraged to join the volunteering effort by signing the First and Ten pledge on the team’s website and by sharing their stories with #give10
