10-time Pro Bowler suffered injury during Sunday’s 3rd quarter

Browns left tackle Joe Thomas suffered a torn left triceps Sunday against the Titans and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Thomas went down with the injury during the third quarter of Cleveland’s 12-9 overtime loss. An MRI on Monday revealed the tear.

Thomas, one of the best players in Browns history, had his streak of 10,363 plays without a missed snap broken because of the injury. The streak spanned 11 seasons and 167 games. The last time Cleveland entered a game without Thomas as the starting left tackle was the 2006 season finale.

The four years I have been here, I kind of thought he was superhuman or something where nothing could happen to him,” left guard Joel Bitonio said. “We were hoping we would get a win for him, but we didn’t pull it out. It is just frustrating. It is tough. A guy like that, he has given so much to the city, to the team and to his teammates, and it is rough.”
