Posted Feb 13, 2018

We’re collecting the latest projections with 72 days until the 2018 NFL Draft

We’re scanning the Internet for our third edition of Mock Draft Roundup, and we’re noticing a few adjustments here and there when it comes to the Browns’ projected picks at No. 1 and No. 4.

T-minus 72 days until the 2018 NFL Draft…

Todd McShay - ESPN.com

1. QB Sam Darnold (USC)

4. RB Saquon Barkley (Penn State)

Of note: McShay sees the Browns taking the first of four quarterbacks in the top six of this year’s draft, as he projects the Giants (No. 2), Broncos (No. 5) and Jets (No. 6) to also go with a signal-caller.

Bucky Brooks - NFL.com

1. Darnold

4. DB Minkah Fitzpatrick (Alabama)

Of note: Brooks believes Fitzpatrick “checks all of the boxes” for Browns general manager John Dorsey because of his versatility.

Chad Reuter - NFL.com

1. Darnold

4. DE Bradley Chubb (North Carolina State)

Of note: Most other projections have Chubb going No. 3 to the Colts, but Reuter sees the Browns snagging him to pair on the other side of the line from Myles Garrett.

Charley Casserly - NFL.com

1. Darnold

4. Fitzpatrick

Of note: Casserly considers Darnold to be the best quarterback in this year’s draft and says Fitzpatrick can play either safety or cornerback.

Chris Trapasso - CBSSports.com

1. QB Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma)

4. CB Joshua Jackson (Iowa)

Of note: Trapasso believes Mayfield, who had a great week at the Senior Bowl, will ace the pre-draft tests and continue his rise up the draft boards.

Will Brinson - CBSSports.com

1. Darnold

4. Barkley

Of note: Brinson believes the Browns would be “cooking with gas” by nabbing Barkley to pair with a young quarterback and an experienced offensive line.

RJ White - CBSSports.com

5. Mayfield

7. Fitzpatrick

Of note: White projects the Browns to make trades with both the Broncos and Buccaneers and to still acquire a quarterback and a top-billed defensive back to go along with whatever assets they’re able to nab from Denver and Tampa Bay.

Walter Cherepinsky - WalterFootball.com

1. Barkley

4. Mayfield

Of note: Cherepinsky believes Mayfield will win over the Browns with his “leadership ability and upside.”

Tony Pauline - DraftAnalyst.com

1. Barkley

4. Darnold

Of note: Pauline calls Barkley the “best player in the draft” and sees Cleveland nabbing the second drafted quarterback at the No. 4 spot.
