Game Day Tips

NFL Institutes Revised Security Measures for 2012

Starting with the preseason home opener this Friday against the Philadelphia Eagles, all fans will be subject to metal detection as they enter FirstEnergy Stadium, Home of the Cleveland Browns.  This is a new requirement for all NFL stadiums.  This new procedure, using handheld metal detectors, will enhance the current screening process and ensure a safe gameday environment for all fans.  Fans will be asked to hold their keys, cell phones and any other metal items in their hands during the wanding process.  This procedure will eliminate the need for “pat-downs” of fans.  Fans are encouraged to arrive early to the stadium.

Parking

If you do not have a pre-sold parking pass, some cash spots are sold in the Port Authority parking lots.  Because the parking areas surrounding the Stadium are located on an active port, there may only be a limited amount of cash spots available if there is a ship in port.  For additional information, click on the following link: http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/stadium/parking.html.

Arrive Early

On Browns Game Day, Stadium gates open two hours prior to Kickoff.  To avoid waiting in lines and congestion at Security checkpoints, it is recommended that fans arrive early.  On a typical Browns game day, gates do not begin to become crowded until an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes after gates open.  By entering early you can avoid the crowds and be sure to be in your seat prior to kickoff.

Check the Prohibited and Permitted Items List

Prior to attending the game, be sure to check out our Prohibited and Permitted Items page.  In conjunction with NFL Security Guidelines and with the safety of all fans in mind, there are a number of items that are not permitted to enter the Stadium.

Among the most often overlooked items on the prohibited items list are large purses and bags. If you plan on bringing a purse or bag, be sure that it meets our Stadium guidelines.  The largest size bag permitted to enter the Stadium is 8 ½” x 11” x 14”.

Click on the following link for a complete list of permitted and prohibited items: http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/stadium/prohibited-items.html.

Keep your ticket with you

Once you enter the building be sure to keep your ticket with you at all times. You must be able to present your ticket when asked by a Stadium Representative, and ushers in the Stadium seating bowl will ask to see it throughout the game as you come and go from your seats.

Bringing a child to the game?

If you are bringing a child to the game, you might want to consider stopping by a Guest Services Location and getting them a “Browns Buddy” wristband.  The child’s seat location is written on the wristband and in the event that parties become separated during the course of the game, the identifying wristband will aid in the reuniting process.

Wristbands are available at the Guest Services Booth located at each of the main entry gates, at the Main Guest Services Room across from Section 102 and at the Guest Services Rooms across from Sections 509 & 534. They are also available in the Club lounges at the concierge desks.

Dealing with Fan Behavior, Housekeeping, Medical or Maintenance Issues on Game Day

At FirstEnergy Stadium, we continually strive to deliver a pleasurable experience to all fans in attendance.  If the behavior of a fan or fans around you is disruptive, or if you have a housekeeping, medical or maintenance issue to report on game day, here are some things you can do to address the situation:

  • Approach a Stadium Representative and alert them of the issue
  • Place an anonymous phone call to our Fan Tip Line by dialing 440-824-6000.
  • Send an anonymous text message by texting BROWNS to 78247.
  • When using the Tip Line or sending a text message, be prepared to provide the location and nature of the issue.  Stadium personnel will be proactive in addressing your situation.

Guests with Disabilities

Accessible Entrances

All entrances to FirstEnergy Stadium are accessible for fans with disabilities.  Signs indicating wheelchair accessible entrances are visible at each gate to expedite your entry.  Disables patrons may also access the building through any Suite Entry.

ADA Ticket Exchange

Should a fan need access to a wheelchair space or accessible seating on a temporary basis, accommodations can be made through the Browns Ticket Office prior to the day of the game by calling 440-891-5050. Like other seating in FirstEnergy Stadium, accessible seating is limited and in many cases, completely committed prior to game day.  Fan requests made on game day cannot always be met so it is always best to call in advance.

Elevators

Disabled patrons may use the Stadium elevators to get to their seats.  Elevators are located on the south side near Sections 102 and 115 and on the north side near Section 136 and 131.  If you aren’t sure which elevator to take to get to your destination, stop by one of our Guest Services locations for directions and assistance.

Directions

Should you need assistance locating your seat, stop by any of our Guest Services Locations located at each of the main entry gates, at the Main Guest Services Room across from Section 102 and at the Guest Services Rooms across from Sections 509 & 534. Staff will be ready and able to assist you in finding your destination.
