Biography

Art Tolhurst enters his second season with the Browns. Tolhurst currently serves the staff as a strength and conditioning assistant.

Tolhurst came to Cleveland after serving as a strength and conditioning assistant at the University of Oregon from 2012-16. His most recent stint with the Ducks marked his second after he served as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant in Eugene from 2009-10.

Between stints at Oregon, Tolhurst worked at the University of California as a strength and conditioning assistant on 2011. He got his start in strength and conditioning when he interned at the University of South Florida in 2007.

Prior to coaching, he played for the Hamburg Pioneers of the German Football League in 2000 and the British Columbia Lions in 2003. Tolhurst started his coaching career with the Vienna Vikings of the Austrian Football League from 2006-08 as a wide receivers coach.

Tolhurst played half back for the University of British Columbia, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in human kinetics. He later went on to earn his master’s degree in educational leadership from Oregon.

A native of Richmond, British Columbia, Tolhurst attended Richmond High School. Tolhurst and his wife, Bailey, had their son, Brixton, in 2016.
