Scott Turner was named the Browns’ Wide Receivers coach on January 17, 2013.
Turner joined the professional coaching ranks in 2011 as the Carolina Panthers’ offensive quality control coach. While with the Panthers, Turner worked closely with Browns Head Coach Rob Chudzinski, breaking down vast amounts of information and analyzing opponents’ statistical tendencies to assist in offensive preparations.

Turner joined the professional coaching ranks in 2011 as the Carolina Panthers’ offensive quality control coach. While with the Panthers, Turner worked closely with Browns Head Coach Rob Chudzinski, breaking down vast amounts of information and analyzing opponents’ statistical tendencies to assist in offensive preparations.
Prior to Carolina, Turner spent three seasons at the University of Pittsburgh where he served two years (2008-09) as an offensive assistant and one (2010) as wide receivers coach. While with the Panthers, he worked with wide receiver Jon Baldwin, who was selected in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Turner spent two seasons (2006-07) on the prep level at South County Secondary School in Lorton, Va., after beginning his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Oregon State University in 2005.
He was a three-year letterman as a quarterback at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas (2002-04), where he graduated with a degree in psychology. Turner is the son of former NFL head coach and current Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner.
