Pat Roberts
Director, College Scouting
Pat Roberts is in his fourth season as the Browns National Scout and will have an enhanced role of scouting all the top collegiate football programs across the country. Roberts spent the previous seven years with the Chicago Bears in various roles within their scouting department.
Roberts spent the 2004 season as the Bears Southeast Area Scout, and had served previously as the club’s Northeast Area Scout for five seasons (1999-03). Roberts joined the Bears in 1998 and served as the Bears in-house scout for the 1998 season.
A graduate of DePauw University (Ind.), Roberts played four years at DePauw as an offensive guard (1991-94) and graduated in 1995 with a degree in exercise science. Following graduation, Roberts continued his education and received his master’s degree from Indiana State in 1997, while coaching football at DePauw (1995-97). Roberts was running backs coach in 1995 and served as offensive line coach for two seasons (1996-97).
In 1998, Roberts briefly served as head strength coach and offensive line coach for Division III Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss., before accepting a position with the Chicago Bears.
Roberts was born Oct. 4, 1972, in Mishawaka, Ind. Roberts and his wife, Allison, an attorney, live in High Bridge, N.J., and have a daughter, Sophia, 2.
