McCormack was drafted by the New York Yanks in 1951. He played in his first of six Pro Bowls as a rookie. McCormack was in the U.S. Army from 1952-53 and was then traded to the Browns in a 15-player deal while he was in the service. McCormack played defensive middle guard in 1954 for the Browns. He stole the ball to set up a key Browns' touchdown in the 1954 NFL title game. McCormack excelled as an offensive right tackle for eight years from 1955-62. He was equally adept as a run blocker and pass protector. McCormack was born on June 21, 1930 in Chicago, Ill.
