Paul Warfield
Wide Receiver
Select another honoree:
Warfield was drafted by both the Browns and the Buffalo Bills in 1964. He was a Browns' fixture at wide receiver before being traded to the Miami Dolphins in 1970. Warfield was a key element in the Dolphins' offenses. His mere presence on the field forced the defense to make adjustments. Warfield was fast and super-smooth and was known as a precise pattern runner. He also had exceptional hands and was an excellent blocker. In his career, Warfield caught 427 passes for 8,565 yards, including 85 touchdowns. He had a sensational 20.1-yard per catch average. Warfield was named All-NFL five times and was named to eight Pro Bowls. He was born on Nov. 28, 1942 in Warren, Ohio.
