Brad Melland is in his seventh season as the Browns’ equipment manager after serving as the assistant equipment manager for the Seattle Seahawks the previous seven seasons (1998-2004). He is responsible for ordering and issuing all playing equipment for the club. Along with assistants Jim McLaughlin and Jeff Inderhees, Melland coordinates the transport of equipment on all road trips. He and his staff also play an important role in the progression of all team practice sessions, including operation of the clock and maintenance of the practice script.

Prior to his stint in Seattle, Melland worked in three other professional leagues, with the most recent being the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (1996-98), where he was the assistant director of football operations, head equipment manager and travel coordinator.
Melland also has experience with the Baltimore Stallions (1994-95) of the CFL, the World League’s Rhein Fire (1995) and Orlando Thunder (1991-1992) and the Arena Football League’s Tampa Bay Storm (1993).
Melland is a native of Williston, North Dakota and a graduate of Williston High School and the University of North Dakota, where he earned his BBA in management. Melland and his wife, Tanya, a native of Montreal, have four children, Christopher (12), Caeli (10), Jaime (9) and Jace (5).
