David Hinson
College Area Scout

Biography

David Hinson is entering his fourth year with the Browns as a college area scout. Prior to joining the Browns he spent the previous four seasons (2005-08) as an area scout with the New Orleans Saints, where he was responsible for evaluating players at the schools located in the Northeast region of the United States.

Hinson joined the Saints after three years with the Buffalo Bills, where he had been the club’s scout for the BLESTO scouting service from 2002-04.  He was promoted by the Bills after a stint in the team’s player personnel department.

A native of Jamestown, N.Y., Hinson graduated from the University at Buffalo in 1999, where he earned his degree in business management and played tailback on the school’s football team. He also had a standout prep career at Jamestown High School, where he earned all-state honors and was selected as the New York Player of the Year in 1994.

Hinson lives in Carmel, Ind., with his wife, Lindsey, and daughter, Aza.
