Biography

Paul Warfield begins his fifth season with the Browns as Senior Advisor to the General Manager. Warfield previously worked for the Browns as Director of Player Relations from 1981-87. His main responsibilities with the club will include college scouting, talent evaluation and special projects.

Warfield starred for the Browns from 1964-69 and again from 1976-77 and also spent five seasons (1970-74) with the Miami Dolphins. Warfield led the Browns in receiving as a rookie, catching 52 passes for 920 yards and nine touchdowns and helped Cleveland win the 1964 NFL Championship (27-0 vs. Baltimore on Dec. 27).

Warfield played college football at Ohio State and was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1983. Over his 13-year NFL career, he caught 427 passes for 8,565 yards and 85 touchdowns with a sensational 20.1-yard per catch average. Warfield was named All-NFL five times and was selected to eight Pro Bowls.
