Kareem Hunt's abbreviated preseason is over.
The Browns running back will miss the team's final preseason game against the Detroit Lions after undergoing surgery Thursday morning to repair a sports hernia.
A full recovery is anticipated prior to his return to action in Week 10 of the regular season.
Hunt appeared in the Browns' Weeks 2 and 3 preseason contests against the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, carrying the ball seven times for 17 yards. He also caught one pass for 3 yards.
Hunt will serve an eight-game suspension before returning for the Browns' Week 10 game against the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 11 at FirstEnergy Stadium.
