This week’s Cleveland Browns High School Game of the Week presented by Ohio Cat in association with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) will feature Mogadore and Garfield on Friday, Oct. 18th.

In this week’s matchup, the undefeated Garfield G-Men will host the Mogadore Wildcats. The Wildcats are coming off a 42-14 conference win over Valley Christian last week. They opened their season with a close win, 31-30 against Norwayne. If the Bulldogs are able to get a win against the G-Men, that will make them 3-0 in conference play and 7-1 on the season.

The G-Men are 7-0 for the first time since 1989. In the last seven games, they have put up nearly 300 points, having two games with scores of 50+ points. Senior running back Connor Hrubik and sophomore running back Anthony Demma lead their time to victory in last week’s win against Rootstown, 38-25. Hrubik rushed for 156 yards, while Demma had three touchdowns.

The Wildcats also had a victorious win over Rootstown, outscoring the Rovers 42-6. The Wildcats ran the ball effectively and played great defense. Offense showed out with 31 carries for 206 yards, including two short touchdown runs by sophomore running back Tyler Knight and junior running back Nick Skye. Knight and Skye took four of five carries for 10-plus yards for a total of 96 yards.

The Mogadore Wildcats are historically known to be a prominent opponent. While they are still have a prestigious program, the Garfield G-Men are not willing to put their undefeated record on the line.

In 2018, the G-Men lost the matchup against the Wildcats 49-26. The G-Men seek to avenge last year’s loss by beating the Wildcats in G-Men territory for the first time in years.

Good luck to both teams and stay tuned for a post-game report.
