North Royalton Browns Backers named 2019 Club of the Year

The North Royalton Browns Backers have been named the 2019 Browns Backers Club of the Year, as voted on by the Browns Backers Presidents' Leadership Council. The club, who meets at Nikos Bar and Gyro located at 12766 Royalton Rd. in North Royalton, was founded by Tim Rudnick in April 2018 and has grown to over 130 members.

"Our Browns Backer clubs are the most loyal and passionate fan base in all of professional sport. What really makes this program unique is that many clubs meet beyond the 16-weeks of football and turn this into a full calendar year of community engagement and club activities. The North Royalton Browns Backers being one of them" said Corey Kinder, the Fan Experience and Special Events manager for the Cleveland Browns.

At the beginning of 2019, Rudnick and his cabinet identified three goals: contribute money to local charitable efforts, membership growth and engagement in club activities. "We really wanted to become a club, as opposed to a group of people in matching shirts watching the game" said Rudnick.

The clubs charitable contributions benefitted the Cleveland Animal Protective League, Firefighter Cancer Support Network – Ohio Chapter, three scholarships to North Royalton High School seniors looking to continue their education and the North Royalton Fire Department. After consulting with Fire Chief Robert Chegan Jr., the club worked with the department to construct a 'splash house' that travels between schools and fairs to teach fire safety to children.

"I am astonished and grateful that our club has developed so quickly with members that are so generous that we could win Club of the Year this soon" Rudnick added.

The Cleveland Browns will host a private party for the North Royalton Browns Backers in the coming weeks.
