In the Week three High School Game of the Week presented by Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) matchup Canton Central Catholic Crusaders will host the Strongsville Mustangs. The Crusaders, led by head coach Jeff Lindesmith, enter the game with a 1-1 record while the Mustangs boast a 2-0 record on the season.

The Crusaders faced a tough Perry Panthers team in their week two matchup. The Crusaders traded scores with the Panthers as the score was tied 14-14 at the half. Canton Central relied on a well-balanced offense throughout the game by gaining 114 yards rushing and 136 yards passing. However, this would not prove to be enough as the Panthers won the battle in the trenches and rushed for 338 yards throughout the contest. The Panthers put the game away by scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter and ultimately winning 27-28. After a tough loss on the road, the Crusaders are looking forward to their home game matchup against the Strongsville Mustangs.

The Mustangs, led by head coach Louis Cirino, faced the Hudson Explorers in week two. Strongsville was able to hold off a strong fourth quarter surge by the Explorers to come out on top. The Explorers were able to tally up 21 fourth quarter points, but it would not be enough for the Explorers to get their first win. Strongsville’s Taylor Griffin, put the team on his back with 1:24 remaining in the game and ran for a 46-yard touchdown to seal the deal for the Mustangs. The Mustangs started the season strong and look to stay undefeated as they travel to Canton Central this week.

Good luck to both teams and stay tuned for a post-game report.
