Browns-Texans delayed by 35 minutes because of severe weather

Severe thunderstorms rolled through the area right before kickoff

The Cleveland Browns prepare to face the Houston Texans.

Sunday's game between the Browns and Texans at FirstEnergy Stadium was delayed roughly 35 minutes because of severe weather.

Both teams retreated to the locker rooms shortly before the game's scheduled 1 p.m. kickoff. Heavy rains, high winds and hail rolled through the area as the National Anthem played.

The teams returned to the field at 1:25 p.m. and went through a 10-minute warmup period. The game officially kicked off at 1:37 p.m.
