Student success starts with school attendance. Students who are absent from school miss important learning opportunities, which can be difficult, or even impossible to make up. The mission of the Get 2 School Network is to prioritize attendance by connecting its users to resources aimed at tackling chronic absenteeism. The Cleveland Browns Foundation, Ohio Department of Education and Proving Ground are deeply committed to this mission.

Greedy Williams danced with the kids, Sione Takitaki lead tackling drills and other members of the rookie class coached flag football games and talked with the kids about their love for the game of football.

The Cleveland Browns hosted an official groundbreaking for a 70-yard field at Boys Hope Girls Hope of Northeastern Ohio. The team will install high-quality synthetic turf at the center, which becomes the eighth of nine multi-sport playing fields to be funded since summer 2016 through the Browns’ and Dee and Jimmy Haslams’ commitment to youth football as part of Browns Give Back.

During a visit to Bloom Bakery, Browns players presented Towards Employment $75,000 as part of their commitment to social unity and equality initiatives. The grant is comprised of personal donations made by Browns players, as well as contributions from the team through the NFL’s matching club grant program focused on supporting social justice causes.
Kaylon Cowan-Ross and Omowonuola Obasa were recognized as the 2018 Marion Motley Scholarship recipients. Kaylon and Omowonuola were recognized in an on-field check presentation with Browns alumni Dick Ambrose, and served as the honorary Coin Toss Captains for the game.

In association with Hard Knocks, players spent time before training camp practice to do drills with kids on the practice fields. Tyrod Taylor led the kids through warm up drills followed by players leading football specific drills and encouraging them to have fun.
The Cleveland Browns Gatorade Junior Training Camp is designed for middle school students, ages 12-14. The camp focused on football fundamentals, skills and personal development.

The Cleveland Browns hosted their Second Annual Browns Give Back Summer Volunteer Blitz. Throughout the day, Browns executives, staff and players committed time from their daily schedules to volunteer for the benefit of Northeast Ohio, focusing on the team’s commitment to education and youth football while engaging the community through its signature First and Ten volunteering movement.
Head Coach Hue Jackson, accompanied by Cleveland Brown staff members, plunged into Lake Erie to fulfill the promise he made at the end of the 2016 season. For every staff member who jumped into the lake with him, Jackson donated $100 toward the Hue Jackson Foundation, which combats human trafficking across Northeast Ohio. The Haslam family matched the funds, totaling to $30,000 raised.
Browns coaches, players, alumni and staff attended the 19th Annual Golf outing to raise money and awareness to benefit education in Northeast Ohio, the mission of the Cleveland Browns Foundation.
The Cleveland Browns hosted a Social Justice Summit and invited Cleveland community leaders and players to discuss ways to positively affect social change in the region.
