Browns-Bills agree to joint training camp practices in New York

The Browns and Bills have agreed to hold joint practice sessions in Pittsford, N.Y., in the days leading up to the teams' nationally televised preseason showdown at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The practices are slated for Monday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m. at St. John Fisher College. The Browns and Bills square off the following Thursday in Cleveland at 8 p.m. in a preseason game that will be broadcast by ESPN.

"A lot of the guys on the staff have done it and had a positive experience. It's something I've always wanted to do," Browns coach Mike Pettine said. "I think it raises the level of competition. Your guys after a while get tired of going against each other at training camp. You don't get a good sense of where you are. I just think it ratchets up the competitive juices and I think you get a little more out of it so we are very much looking forward to it."

Tickets to the sessions are free but will be required for entry. Details on how tickets will be distributed will be announced by the Bills at a later date.

The Browns' full training camp schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
